I have three sewing FOs that I’m really proud to show off today. All three are things I’ve never done before so I’m super proud that they came out just how I pictured them.

First, after reading some blogs about thread sketching, I decided to try my hand at it. After reading my manual, I figured out how to do it and sketched out some simple shapes on some scrap fabric.

Not too bad for a first try. I like the way my hearts came out but my scripted initials need some work. I think with some practice and a better image, this could look really cool as a journal cover or something. Still not sure what the “or something” would be, but there must be more practical applications than this, right? I would love to do a collage of some sort but my creativity feels a little borked these days.

FO number two is a little more complicated and I’m glad it turned out exactly how I envisioned. This was for box #3 in Craftster’s Make a Friend Swap and it was my first time making a bag. And not just any ol’ bag….

…it’s reversible! I’ve never made a bag much less a reversible one but it came out great! I hope my swap partner likes it.

And my last FO is the one that I am most proud of. I made my first ever skirt!

I found the fabric at Hobby Lobby and I just couldn’t pass it up. So I used Brett Bara’s One Hour Skirt tutorial and made this gal in 3 hours…with a one hour break in there. But I made it! And it fits! The problem is, I don’t have a good top that goes with it. I think this would look cute with a solid v-neck sweater, tights and loafers. I have no idea where I would wear a cute outfit like that to, either. Oh well! It’s cute and it’s mine!
