Since Autumn is officially here and the weather is getting a bit cooler ’round these parts, I’ve pulled out the Sketchbook Cardigan that I’ve been ignoring. I’ve made some wonderful progress!

It’s now firmly in the “impossible to photograph” stage. I’ve divided the stitches for the back and right front and now I’m working on the left front and neck. Then it’s going to the right front and knitting that up, knitting the back stitches and then the two sleeves. The sleeves are supposed to be worked flat and then seamed but I’m thinking about just working them in the round from the top down. After that, it’s the bottom ribbing and then the button placket.
I’m giving some serious thought to not doing any buttons but adding in a zipper instead. I’ve never done that before. Would I still need to work a placket if I chose to put in a zip? I should probably practice putting in a zipper onto knitted fabric first, yeah?

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I’m intimidated by zippers for some reason…so you should try it and test the waters out!
Such a great grassy green. Awesome progress on it.
Your sweater is going to be beautiful! I should pull out a one of the many things I’ve been ignoring…
I personally fear the combo of knitting/crocheting and sewing, but there are some great tutorials out there for adding zippers if you are feeling brave
