I’ve been working furiously on this shawl along with a super secret sample knit. And since I can’t show you the super secret sample knit, I’ll have to share my progress on the Swallowtail shawl.

I’ve been playing around with depth of field and doing some fancy things in post processing. So the colors above aren’t totally true to life. I’ve got six Budding Lace repeats done out of a total of 14! I’ve even included a life line just to be on the safe side. I’ve been quite surprised at how easy this part has been. I’ve actually been able to watch some TV and knit away with only occasional glances at my charts. I’m not sure if I’ll be finished in time for the end of the Olympics, but I’ll have quite a bit done.

I’m a big fan of trying to do fancy things with the camera. Though I don’t have fancy equipment
You are braver than me for attempting a large lace project.
You’ll be in good company if you don’t finish before the end of the Olympics
You’ve made a really good start. A lifeline is a REALLY good idea; I especially find that I need them just as I’m starting to feel complacent….
I love how this is taking shape!
Looking fab so far
Looks great! Fingers crossed you manage to finish it before the end of the Olympics
It looks really awesome so far. I really like it.
