I’m still working on my ankle sock, you just wouldn’t be able to tell a difference from the photos. I’ve got the pattern written down and I’m making minor adjustments as I knit but now I’m having stage fright as far as publishing it. Then again, it’ll be a free pattern and really just a plain sock so I most likely won’t face an inbox full of hate mail. Or I might. This is the internet.
Anyway, I have picked up my Diamond Lace Scarf and visible progress has been made.

Three out of the required 11 lace repeats have been done. I’m surprised at what a fast knit this is turning out to be. I don’t have too much experience with lace but the few feeble attempts I’ve made at knitting a lace shawl, I didn’t find the patterns to be “zippy”. I hope to finish this scarf by the end of November so I can use any left overs in my Bee Keeper’s Quilt.
Tomorrow my best friend from NJ is coming down to visit me! I’m very excited to see Leticia again and do some serious yarn shopping here in Nashville. So this blog will be rather quiet for the next few days. But I will be back! Fear not!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
The scarf is going to be great when it’s finished. Can’t wait to see pictures!
Free pattern testers is an awesome group and I’ve had great experiences with them. I never realized how much work goes into a knitting pattern until I wrote one, so I always think very carefully before even giving constructive criticism in a review. People have been very nice about the couple I put up for sale, so I think any hate mail you get you can discount as being from a crazy person or someone who doesn’t realize what it takes to write a pattern.
The scarf looks good–love the lace pattern. I’m glad it’s going quickly because scarves sometimes feel like they’re taking FOREVER.
Lovely yarn colour and it looks like a lovely pattern
Pretty! Have fun with your NJ friend. (Oh, and I have to agree with St Tog, too–even a free pattern needs a look-see by someone other than you.)
Your scarf is so pretty. I love the yarn.
Yarn so preeeetty!! Have a fantastic time!
The scarf looks great! Have fun with your friend!
I agree w/Stitched Together. Good to work out possible, unseen bugs.
It really amazes me how stupid ppl can be hatin’ on a knitted or crocheted pattern. I mean come on, seriously? I understand your worry as I’m workin’ on something and know someone will have whatever opinion on it but hey, that’s how it goes. What counts is that you’re dedicated to your design and are putting your heart into the process and believe in 110%.
If you are scared of getting it published, why don’t you get someone from the Free Pattern Testers Group (http://www.ravelry.com/groups/free-pattern-testers) on Ravelry to test knit it for you. I’ve learnt so much about pattern writing from there. The testers are really helpful about how to make your patterns clearer. You will get lots of honest feedback, that you might not get from the general knitting public. That way you can know that your pattern is the best that you can make it.
Good luck, I’m sure it will be a great pattern.
Have a great time with your friend and that scarf is really pretty. It’ll be fabulous after blocking.
That’s a very subtle shade on that yarn – very pretty
