WIP Wednesday

Full disclosure: this entry is a cop out. To see other people’s crafty works in project, click the banner above!

I’m not really working on anything in earnest this week. I’m sort of working on that Elegant Lady embroidery but I’m starting to loose interest and eyesight! I did work on something yesterday but I ended up finishing it so I’ll blog about that on Friday.

I should probably take my measurements and start swatching for the sweater (or maybe a cardigan?) I want to make. I have some of the same type of yarn I want to use on hand (just not in the colors I want) so I can just knit and do the math.

Boxes have been cleared out of the living room and put in the second room. We are currently bookcase-less so unpacking has come to a halt for now. Our bookshelves in NJ were flimsy particle board that we bought at Wal-Mart so we knew that they would not make the journey here. So we’re just saving up our pennies and waiting for the back to school sales to start so we can buy furniture.

Hopefully this weekend I’ll get my sewing machine fixed and returned quickly. I have a bunch of ideas that involve sewing. Namely, a few tote/project bags, some funky pillows and maybe an apron. But there’s no way that I’m hand sewing any of that, though. Sewing machines were invented for a reason! ;)

So I’ve been mostly just keeping house and playing Oblivion on the XboX 360. I can’t wait for the next game in the Elder Scrolls saga to come out in November. I love expansive role playing games like this! Currently, my character is a very sneaky thief and deadly with a bow and arrow. We’re also saving up for a Kinect. I would love to pick up a copy of UFC Personal Trainer. Which reminds me, I should get a pair of sneakers this weekend so I can start hitting my complex’s gym.

I’m hoping that I’m out of this crafting funk by next week!

  1. I sew more in the summer, maybe it’s because sitting under a pile of wool knitting isn’t always so comfy? Good luck getting settled into your new place. Moving is exhausting even when it’s just across town, let alone when you have to get used to a whole new town.

  2. Don’t forget to take time out and enjoy the summer. Work will always be there.

  3. You just moved and gots to settle into your new digs yeah before you feel you’ve got time to craft! No worries.

  4. It’s hard to craft when you haven’t really settled in, and things haven’t found their place to be …a good time to go pattern surfing at Ravelry ;-)
