WIP Wednesday

I’ve been busy stitching away on a super secret swap project. I’m almost done with this and it’s turned out just as I imagined.

CIMG0003

I have a few smaller items to craft and I’ll be able to send this off to it’s recipient.

What is it? I’m not telling! At least not yet.

And for those who’ve asked, my wrists are feeling much better. Taking a break from knitting has really helped and embroidery has been a good crafty alternative. I forgot how much I love to embroider. It’s like coloring but with thread. Plus the results are more immediate than with knitting.

In personal news…husband and I are moving! We’re leaving the swamps of Jersey for the sunny cornfields of Tennessee. I’ll be swapping Bruce Springsteen for Dolly Parton, I suppose. Personally, I’m looking forward to the change of scenery and to live closer to my oldest sister and my nieces who are around my age. We’ll also be closer to his side of the family as well as friends. It’ll be a big improvement in our married life (more space!) and professionally for both of us. We’ll be moving at the end of this month so I’ll be posting more interviews then. If you’d like to be featured on here, contact me.

  1. Congrats on your new digs and move. Hope everything goes well :O).
I’ve bought Theragloves from here: http://www.theraglove.com/products.html but I need them mostly for the computer. You could probably make fingerless gloves for yourself and that will do the trick.
    The embroidery looks beautiful.

  2. If you’ve never lived in the mid-west before there are some really nice things about it. Good luck and congratulations!

  3. Congrats and good luck on the move! I know the feeling of just needing a change of scenery. The embroidery looks beautiful. I can’t wait to see the full object!

  4. Hooray for embroidery! I’m hoping to learn some new stitches soon, I just learned the chain stitch a couple weeks ago. I love a good secret project, too, I can’t wait to see what this is. :D And best of luck with your move.

  5. I’m really curious to see the full embroidered project; it looks really pretty from what you’ve shared.

I’m glad to hear your wrist is feeling better. Take it easy with that move — and best of luck! Jersey to Tennessee has got to be a little bit of a culture shock!

  6. Your embroidery is so beautiful!

Congratulations on moving — it sounds like it’s full of good possibilities for you & your husband. Though as a transplanted Tennessean myself, I’ll warn you that it’s not always a kind place for those of us with allergies.

  7. Good luck with the move :)

  8. Can’t wait to see what it is…
